ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

House of Hunan is one Marion County’s best-loved homestyle Chinese-American & Taiwanese restaurants. Founded in the 1980’s by the Lo family — first-generation immigrants to the United States from Taiwan — who chose Marion County as a good place to raise their family, House of Hunan has weathered the rise & fall of the surrounding Southland (now Marion Centre) Mall, and has remained a bustling staple in the Marion restaurant community. While House of Hunan is prized for its versatile & home-made Chinese-American menu — featuring dishes more familiar to Marion eaters — the Lo family is also celebrated for their behind-the-scenes Taiwanese recipes, which are often served at staff meals or in the Lo household. Frank Lo, who grew up in Marion County and graduated from Marion Harding High, originally thought he wouldn’t follow in his parents’ footsteps & enter the family business; but, after honing his skills working in the Cameron Mitchell restaurants empire in Columbus, and with degrees from the Ohio State University, Frank returned to Marion to manage this cornerstone of Marion County’s culinary universe.
