Master Stained Glass Artist

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

David Dunlap is a nationally renowned stained-glass artist, and has worked on major church, hospital, chapel, & other public stained glass installations in communities across North-Central Ohio, Texas, and the wider United States. David came of age in the radical “do-it-yourself” crafts // artisan revival of the 1960s and 1970s, and found himself increasingly in demand as a stained glass artist, for both small private commissions (restaurant Tiffany lamps, signs) and major public installations (churches, hospitals). Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, David was instrumental in the launch and organization of handicraft professionals across the state of Ohio, and maintained a vibrant stained glass studio & workshop space in Waldo. David then moved to Texas, where he grew Dunlap Art Glass, his stained glass studio, to become a leading national purveyor of custom art glass, and was involved in arts-based organizing: including putting together several well-received artists’ home studio tours, to draw attention to his community’s vibrant arts scene. Since returning back to his home community of Marion County, Dunlap Art Glass has played a critical role in the maintenance & upkeep of Marion County’s historic churches. You may not know that your own home congregation has a stained glass window lovingly restored, re-built, or custom designed by David & Dunlap Art Glass!
