ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Anthony Marks, Jr. is a relatively recent transplant to Marion, Ohio — hometown of his wife, Jacque Marks — from Atlanta by way of Port Arthur, Texas, where he survived Hurricane Harvey while finishing out his degree in music, audio-visual & media engineering from Lamar State College in 2017. Anthony & Jacque are the owners & proprietors of Lion Hearted Entertainment — a jack-of-all-trades audio & media production company in Marion, Ohio that provides a diverse range of audio, video, & media services to clients ranging from Kings Temple Apostolic Church, where Anthony works as a live sound technician, to Marion County’s 2020 Juneteenth Celebration, which Lion Hearted Entertainments co-produced for the Peace & Freedom Commission, with sponsorship from the Marion Voices Folklife & Oral History Program at the Marion County Historical Society. Anthony’s dream is to open an audio engineering & media production training college for BIPOC youth in Marion County, to teach them to document & embrace their local community & build contemporary media skills that can lead to rewarding, sustaining creative livelihoods.
Anthony is also himself a celebrated & in-demand comedian, MC, and entertainer, known for his off-the-cuff performances, personas, and humorous skits. He is available for performance or MC’ing events around the community & region.
